Country located in Southeast Asia. Malaysia consists of two similarly sized regions: the peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo (East Malaysia), separated by the South China Sea. Peninsular Malaysia shares a land and maritime border with Thailand in the north and maritime borders with Singapore in the south, Vietnam in the northeast, and Indonesia in the west. East Malaysia has land and maritime borders with Brunei and Indonesia and a maritime border with the Philippines and Vietnam. The country received its name from the word "melayu", which means "mountainous country".
The capital and largest city is Kuala Lumpur.
The currency of Malaysia is the Malaysian ringgit, sometimes alsocalled Malaysian dollar. The word "ringgit" comes from the Malay word ringgit and in literal translation means "serrated".
The appearance of Malaysian ringgit banknotes is a bit monotonous. However, in their design there is a small share of originality. On the front side of the banknotes is the image of the founder and first leader of Malaysia - Tuanku Abdul Rahman. On the reverse are fragments from the daily life of the peoples of Malaysia, as well as objects of socio-cultural and industrial importance.
