Face: | Elizabeth II, fishes, at l. carved stone pillar (Maya stela) at Nim Li Punit, located in the Toledo District. The stela depicts two figures in an offertory scene and also has Maya inscriptions. Stelae were essentially stone banners (mostly sculpted of limestone with figures and with hieroglyphic text) raised to glorify the king and record his deeds, although the earliest examples depict mythological scenes. | |
